• Kylie Rusk

Kylie Rusk exhibits an unwavering connection with the natural world, particularly the land and sea. Her passion for the landscape manifests in a diverse array of artistic expressions. Possessing an innate affinity for exploring distinctive vantage points and nuanced interplays of color, texture, and light, Rusk embarks on journeys along the picturesque shorelines of New Zealand, documenting scenes that later find their form in her studio, where she meticulously translates them onto canvas. Her works are imbued with a profound sense of solitude and effectively capture the majestic essence of the quintessential New Zealand landscape.

Rusk graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School of Fine Arts in Auckland, 2007.  In her final year at Elam, she was awarded the Hahnemuhle printmaking award. Since completing her studies, Kylie has exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions, primarily working in acrylic on canvas and board, and creating lithographic prints. Originally from Whangārei, Kylie now resides in Muriwai, West Auckland, making frequent trips back to Tai Tokerau spending time with family and enjoying the familiarity of the place where she grew up. Her works are held in private collections throughout Aotearoa.
